FDA Helps Increase Safety in the Fan

Safety is up to all of us!

About

The Safety Committee partners with Richmond City and VCU Police to alert residents to incidents, monitor our streets, and follow-up on trending illegal activity.

There are several things you can do to increase personal safety and general safety in the Fan:

  • Don’t leave valuables in sight in your parked vehicle
  • Watch out for your neighbors: if you see someone who might be trying to get into a house, or taking something from a house or porch, call 911 and give a description
  • Be aware of your surroundings, especially if you are out late at night
  • Pay attention to the general patterns of any recent crimes, and avoid placing yourself or family/roommates in similar circumstances

  • For a police response, call 911, or police non-emergency at (804) 646-5100.
